Difference Between a Brow Lift, Facelift and Mini Face Lift

The face is one of the first places that begins to show our age. After years of sun exposure and the force of gravity, you may start to see shifts in your visage that you did not expect. The good news is that you do not have to settle for a subpar face. Thanks to plastic surgery, you can reclaim the buoyancy of your youth. However, with so many options out there, it can be difficult to know what to choose. So, allow us to explain the difference between a brow lift, facelift and mini facelift.

What is a Brow Lift?

A minimally invasive option for targeting the forehead and the space between the eyebrows, a brow lift removes excess tissue that has accumulated over time. This procedure rejuvenates the forehead and brow line, resulting in a brighter face with fewer forehead wrinkles and smoother skin around the brow line.

Typically, a brow lift takes around two hours to complete, causing minimal pain. Stitches, located at the hairline are removed a week after surgery.

What is a Facelift?

Consider the facelift a full-face approach to re-energizing your look. If signs of aging have left you with sagging skin, displaced and excess fat, and weak facial muscles, a facelift may be what you need. This comprehensive procedure addresses multiple areas at once, often taking 10-15 years off a patient’s appearance.

Depending on your particular needs, your facelift may take anywhere from two to four hours to complete. Although swelling is expected at first, this will subside so that you can enjoy your new, younger-looking face. Although dramatic improvements can be seen within three weeks after your surgery, it may take up to six months for all of the results to become visible.

What is a Mini Facelift?

If you need more than a brow lift, but less than a full facelift, a mini facelift could be right for you. This is, in fact, the most common type of facelift performed. During the procedure, wrinkles are eliminated, sagging skin is tightened and excess facial tissue is removed. All of this results in a firmer, more youthful face, without the intensity of a full facelift.

In most cases, a mini facelift takes two hours to complete. Recovery time takes less than two weeks and the full results are generally seen within a month.
