Botox® Can Be Used for More than Just Preventing Wrinkles

The most obvious benefit of Botox® is, of course, reducing wrinkles, otherwise known as forehead lines, frown lines, and crow’s feet. However, there are more advanced and surprising benefits to the process as well.

Smoker’s Lines

Also known as lipstick lines, these are vertical lines above and below the lips. Causes for this can be genetics, smoking, or even just age. Regardless, Botox® can help smooth out the area around your lips and tone the skin.

Gummy Smile

Whether genetics gave you a short upper lip, extra gum tissue, or small teeth, Botox® can help make sure your smile will no longer be overshadowed by gum exposure. After putting so much effort into keeping your teeth clean, the only thing you should want people to see when you smile are your pearly whites.

Pebble Chin

Pebble chin is a term for a chin whose skin is bumpy and uneven. It can be caused by excessive flexing of the muscles there, but it can be improved by Botox®. We recommend using Botox® to reduce bumps and achieve smooth, soft skin.

D.A.O.s

These muscles are known for pulling the corners of your mouth down to give you the look of a frown. Not only can that put you at a distance from people, but it will eventually cause marionette lines or wrinkles that form a straight line going down the corners of the mouth. Botox® can be used to smooth these out as well to help you gain an effortless smile.

Nefertiti Lift

As we age, it is common for our neck and chin to become more wrinkled, but Botox® can be used to help redefine your jawline and tighten the skin by relaxing muscles in your chin, jaw, and neck.

Platysmal Bands

Otherwise known as skin that pulls down the front of the neck to give an almost turkey-like appearance, platysmal bands can be improved with Botox® as well.

Face

Other useful cosmetic purposes are treating the tip of the nose to make sure it doesn’t tip downward when smiling, or treating the jaws to slim down the face and give it more of a heart shape.

Non-Cosmetic Purposes

Perhaps the most surprising uses of all are the non-cosmetic purposes for Botox®. It can be used to treat chronic headaches and help to prevent them before they even happen. If you have excessive sweating issues, then Botox® can be applied to your underarms, palms, feet, lips, nose, and forehead to alleviate excessive sweating.
